VR Audio Haptics

Carnegie Mellon HCI Institute: Augmented Perception Lab

IEEE International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality
Research paper publication (2024)

How does different auditory perspectives impact individual's sense of
physical embodiment and abilities to determine sources within VR environments?

At CMU's Augmented Perception Lab, I worked with Professor
David Lindlbauer
and PHD student Yi Fei Cheng to develop this research. We ultimately published
and presented our research at IEEE ISMAR in Seattle.

Reflections:

I helped develop the testing environment, conduct user research, and analyze user data. Working with Professor Lindlbauer taught me so much about HCI research especially in relation to active user data collection and testing iterations. Working with Yi Fei, I gained hands on experience on how to write constructive research papers for official publications.

Overall I am incredibly grateful for their
guidance and the CMU Augmented Perception Lab for providing me this memorable experience.
